St. Petersburg’s Development Review Commission has set a new standard for historic preservation in modern development, unanimously approving Backstreets Capital’s innovative $17 million plan that will restore the historic Cade Allen home while adding new residences to the Mirror Lake district.

The approved project at 250 Mirror Lake Drive North will preserve 57% of the property and repurpose historical materials, earning praise from both preservation advocates and city officials for its thoughtful approach to neighborhood development.

"This speaks volumes and sets a precedent for others to follow," noted Commissioner Tim Clemmons during the approval process.
